Loyal supporters of...

My morning started off well when I got a call from one of the polling groups saying because I was a loyal conservative and tea partier, they wanted to poll me. I nearly started to laugh but restrained myself.

Now to stick with it meant I had to listen through a Dick Morris recorded spiel about how much Obama is destroying our country with his socialist policies. Where it comes to Morris, I really consider him to be a bottom-feeder, but I did it because I just couldn't resist.

Then the recording took me back to a real person for the poll. The first question was who in the conservative, Republican party today or in the past would you consider to be a good president or possible president.

I had to think a few seconds on that one but then I had one-- "Dwight Eisenhower."

I could hear the young guy do a kind of double take verbally, but he wrote it down. I am wondering if only Democrats hear the words of Eisenhower. Probably the Republicans aren't spreading around what he said as it doesn't remotely meet the criteria of the Tea Party folks.

So then he said if I would let them use my name on an ad they are placing in USA Today as a petition against Obama, they would mail me a copy of Dick Morris's last book. You can probably imagine how much I wanted that; so at this point I asked, "How did you get this number and our name to be considered loyal Republicans?"

He said, "It's on a list."

I said, "Well, it's a little strange because we have been donators to Obama and are major supporters of him today."

At that point, he got a strange sound to his voice and said, "Thank you, Ma'am. Good bye."

Farm Boss and I had a good laugh about that, but our only possible explanation for being on such a list of loyal Conservative/Tea Party types must be because Farm Boss has a business and is listed as such. Naturally everybody who is a business person must be a Republican, right? Wrong but that's how they operate.

So the next time you see a poll or a list of people who support Conservative causes and dislike Obama, you never know what they got offered to be on that list...

I wonder if you are on the list because of where you live. It does look like the Tea Party is well financed to contact so many people.

A buddy of mine (and quite Liberal) has registered as a Republican. He does this to be able to vote for the most radical of nut cases that pop up in the Republican primaries. He's pretty disappointed that Trump dropped out so early; now he's hoping Gengrich will stay in long enough before his sordid background gets spread into the political ads.

I think Huckabee chose not to run because he probably figured he was going to be "raptured" yesterday and wouldn't be around. Oops, maybe he will re-announce his intent to run again.

Robert that is pretty funny. If I remember correctly, there was a State that tried to ban changing affiliations within 1 year of a Presidential election, because people were doing that exact thing. I think they were changing parties to vote for Hillary Clinton.

Also I had a relative give $5 to the DNC in his brothers name as a joke. He got so many things in the mail, he figured they must have spent at least $200 trying to get more money out of him.
